I moved to Helsinki from Petrozavodsk, Karelia, to study law there and, of course, to experience life in a new setting! There I will share my thoughts and photos of daily life in Helsinki and Finland as a whole.

Porvoo

Every small Finnish town has its own charm, its own tourist image, carefully created and developed by enthusiastic people, and it makes travelling there special. Choosing between spending Sunday in Helsinki or going somewhere outside the city, you will discover that both options are equally valuable and will expose you to new discoveries.

So, today the destination was Porvoo - a small medieval town located 50 km from Helsinki.

So many antique shops on the same street! The signboard of this one informs everyone that everything in this shop can be sold, except for the shop assistant, counter and dog. However, when we went inside we found a vintage popcorn machine, which also was not for sale.

Huskies in all kinds are sold everywhere. However, I am not sure huskies much to do with Porvoo. But just in case if someone want to get the Northern style souvenirs not getting exposed to more extreme temperatures, buying them in a kind of warmer place is a good idea, really.

One of the episodes of the Jackal movie featuring Bruce Willis and Richard Gere was filmed exactly there. A former city hall, a museum now was depicted as a private in the movie.
